Our story

Started by a British Gas engineer in 1986.
Still run by the family today.

Swainson Gas Services was founded in 1986 by Alan Swainson, after eleven years at British Gas, with a simple idea: the same quality of work, but with a personal touch. Alan built up a maintenance contract round from day one, and it's been the heart of the business ever since.

John Swainson, Alan's son, joined the family firm straight from school in 2004 and has been the sole engineer for a good while now. That means every phone call, every diagnostic and every repair goes through the same pair of hands, with nearly 40 years of family heritage behind it.

Over 500 customers currently trust us with their annual maintenance contract. Some have been with us for decades. That, more than any marketing badge, is the story of Swainson Gas.
